Sodium Aware is for those in earlier stages or seeking general wellness; it focuses on fresh choices and flushing the system. Strict Limits is for later stages or dialysis; it focuses on precise portion control and protecting against electrolyte surges.
Why Two Tracks?
Clinical nutrition often feels like a series of "No's." No salt, no potatoes, no fun. At Swicko & Souro, we replace these restrictions with Contextual Focus. By choosing a track, you tell the Translator how strictly it should grade your groceries. This prevents "shame-loops" where a healthy person feels guilty for eating a banana, or a dialysis patient accidentally consumes a phosphorus trap.
Sodium Aware
The "Everyday" Lens. Focuses on reducing processed salt and maintaining hydration.
- Hydration: Push fluids to flush.
- Sodium: Moderate limits.
- Mascot: Mostly happy Swicko.
Strict Limits
The "Precision" Lens. For those managing advanced kidney levels or dialysis.
- Hydration: Strict SIP satiation.
- Sodium: Absolute ceilings.
- Phosphorus: Deep scanning.
How to Choose Your Path
Choosing a path is a conversation you should have with Swicko's care team. However, here are the behavioral anchors we use to help you decide:
You might be Sodium Aware if...
You are in the earlier stages or are proactively managing blood pressure. Swicko's kidney shield can still effectively process water and filter most minerals, but you want to reduce the "wear and tear" on the shield by avoiding the heavy salt surges found in processed foods.
You might need Strict Limits if...
Swicko's kidney shield have slowed significantly or you are on dialysis. Every milligram of potassium or milliliter of water counts because the shield can no longer filter them out automatically. You need the Translator to be "The Second Set of Eyes" on every barcode.
We never categorize foods as "Illegal" or "Dangerous." We instead show how they fit into your chosen track. This gives you the data to make a choice, rather than a rule that makes you feel shamed.
